A never-released bar-stamp prototype in supersweet plastic! The Valkyrie was a huge success when it came out in 2001. Back in those days, the "regular" Champion plastic type was the now-coveted and extint CE (Champion Edition) plastic, renowned for its durability and grip, still considered by many to be the best driver plastic in the history of disc golf.
Back in the labs at Innova, they wanted a more stable Valkyrie, and this Valkyrie-X prototype was the answer. It combines the normal Valk top with the wing of the Firebird, lending increased stability. This Valkyrie-X configuration was shelved in favor of a different approach which became the Viking, and the Valkyrie-X was never submitted for PDGA approval.
Now for the really nerdy info! These were produced in 2003, concurrent with the 4th Run CE Valkyrie (opaque/flat run). Years later this design was revisited with the (also never released) Millennium "SOS", or alternate-mold Sirius Orion LS. The SOS is highly-praised, often considered better than its regular-lineup siblings the SOLF and SOLS. The SOS is identical in configuration to the Valk-X, except for a small nose-spacer that lends a fatter, more stable nose shape.
Please Note: Due to market demand for this collectible, we must add $10 to the listed price for discs 170g and heavier. Although we have this Valkyrie-X under the Model of "Valkyrie", it is NOT the normal Valkyrie mold, and is NOT PDGA Approved.
