Roc Champion - 2009 USDGC Center Cut #17569

This CE Roc, the "Rancho" mold with "Pipeline" stamp, is part of the official 2009 USDGC Collector's Series. These discs were produced in very limited numbers and are only available to USDGC Sponsors, making them hard to find. Each disc comes in a collectors-series bag, with a certificate of authenticity. Each disc is individually numbered with a holographic serial number sticker. For 2009, the USDGC produced only 2,500 total CE Rocs (1,000 Rancho Mold, 1,000 San Marino Mold and 500 Ontario Mold).

Hard-core players and collectors know that Champion Rocs (CE Rocs in the old vernacular) are only made once a year for the US Disc Golf Championship, or USDGC. This incredible tournament features the world's best players in a single division - "One Division, One Champion". Champion Rocs are produced in small quantities to commemorate this special tournament each October. As the world's best-selling mid-range, the Roc has a huge following by players of all abilities, making these collectible Rocs a very hard-to-find disc.

The Roc is normally produced only in DX or KC Pro plastic, so players covet these ultra-durable discs in Innova's Champion plastic, which ensures years of long life and consistent flight. In fact, it is not uncommon for touring Pros to throw Champion Rocs from past USDGC tournaments because they are so tasty!

This particular Roc is a mis-stamp of the 2009 USDGC run, using the Innova "Rancho" mold. The "Rancho" mold is that which is currently utilized for DX and KC Pro Rocs. Factory seconds have cosmetic blemishes that do not affect the performance and are generally multi-stamped, with one stamp over another. Many past mis-stamps seconds have become valuable collectibles in their own right due to the unique beauty that can be created through multi-stamps. Don't delay - These diamonds in the rough are going to sell out very fast due to high demand.

Please note that mis-stamps are all unique and may not resemble the disc pictured in any way. Click here to see a gallery of other mis-stamps for this disc.

What is this sport anyway? Disc golf (also referred to as "frisbee golf") is played much like traditional golf. Instead of a ball and clubs, however, players use a flying disc, or FrisbeeŽ. The sport was formalized in the 1970s, and shares with "ball golf" the object of completing each hole in the fewest number of strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, fewest number of throws). Currently, there are more than 1,750 disc golf courses worldwide, with over 1,400 in the USA.
